Vegan shoes from Portugal The name Nae stands for “No animal exploitation” and describes what the brand stands for. At Nae Vegan you’ll find fashionable vegan shoes made in the Portuguese tradition.The shoes from Nae Vegan immediately attracted my attention because their modern design was very different from the other shoes at the fair.
I discovered Nae Vegan at the Greenshowroom fair in Berlin. l’amour est bleu was just before the online launch and I was looking for interesting brands at the fair with which I could collaborate for the photoshootings. The shoes from Nae Vegan immediately caught my eye because their modern design was very different from the other shoes at the fair. I have to admit that I was extremely sceptical about vegan shoes. After all, vegan leather is nothing but plastic, right?
Vegan leather is not necessarily plastic
Nae Vegan uses microfibre made of nylon, polyester or cotton for their shoes. The materials are manufactured under fair and environmentally friendly conditions and are OEKO-TEX certified, i.e. they are free of toxic substances that are harmful to your skin. Compared to plastic, Nae Vegan microfibres are breathable, anti-allergic and partially waterproof. In addition they use pineapple fibres, recycled airbags, PET and cork for their shoes. All shoes are made in Portugal in a fair and environmentally friendly way.
Our team was not only amazed about the good workmanship and the materials, our model also confirmed that all shoes are comfortable to wear.
Practical test: Are the shoes comfortable?
For me, shoes don’t just have to look good, they also have to be comfortable. For the photoshoot of our latest collection “Midnight” Nae Vegan provided us with shoes for styling. Our team was not only amazed about the good workmanship and the materials, our model also confirmed that all shoes are comfortable to wear. The faux suede leather was soft and in high quality, the faux smooth leather shoes had no plastic look at all and were very comfortable.
Nae Vegan is definitely one of my favourite fair fashion brands. I like the large selection of different styles – from classic to sporty there is something for every type of woman. The designs are a good mix of timeless and modern shoes, matching the fashion of l’amour est bleu.
